The Pose 'n Post Symposium Featuring Chrisette Michele

HumbleBeauty was in the building at the Pose 'n Post Symposium in Columbia, SC, this past Sunday, featuring the lovely and talented singer and songwriter, Chrisette Michele!

Chrisette Michele has been on a 10 city tour, bringing ladies together to discuss and build their social media presence honestly and organically.  Chrisette Michele kicked off the event in Newark, NJ and has hit up major cities such as NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC to name a few. Ladies were able to enjoy a special and intimate performance by Chrisette Michelle, as well as participate in a question/answer panel discussion with great influencers in the social media realm. Pose 'n Post attendees have been able to connect with other bloggers, vloggers, and brands in their communities, while networking and building new relationships.

This has been a SOLD OUT event in each city, and ladies have walked away with fresh inspiration and empowerment!

I was grateful to chat with Chrisette Michele and ask her a few questions about the Pose 'n Post event and how social media has impacted her career....

HumbleBeauty:  What can you tell us about the Pose 'n Post Symposium and what can we expect from the event this evening?

Chrisette Michele:  Lately its been a lot of tears at the event.  Its a vulnerability that happens when you start your own business and when you expose yourself on social media.  Some people are petrified and afraid, so when they see the stories that the girls that I've invited, Brosia, Lover4_Fashion, and Courtney of The Mane Choice, talk about what they've been though, it brings it home for a lot of the ladies.  It gets a little emotional.

HumbleBeauty:  Social media is huge in our day in time.  How would you say that social media has impacted your career?

Chrisette Michele:  In so many ways.  Its my way to chat with the fans and my way to keep real with them, and to tell them how I really feel right at that moment.  Its a nice way to be able to connect with the audience.

HumbleBeauty:  What new projects can the fans expect from Chrisette Michele in the future?

Chrisette Michele:  Outside of the Pose 'n Post Symposium, I'm on tour with Anthony Hamilton.  We're thinking about bringing a second leg of this because its been so successful, every event has been sold out.  Although we've done 16 colleges on this one, we want to add more schools from the Midwest all the way down South, and then do a West coast run.  We've been everywhere from NYU to Harvard and we'll be at Spelman and Clark this week.

Chrisette Michele had a fun icebreaker for everyone!  The challenge was to find someone you didn't know, exchange contact information, take an usie, post on Instagram and tag the other person using the hastag #postnpost!

The ladies had so much fun with this Pose 'n Post icebreaker!

Chrisette Michelle was then joined by You Tubers, Brosia Malbrough and Fash from Lover4_Fashion, along with Courtney Adeleye of The Mane Choice, in a panel discussion.  The audience was able to ask questions and discuss topics ranging from You Tube success, building brands, increasing following, fashion, hair, networking, and everything social media.

Last but not least...Everyone in the building had the chance to take an #usie with Chrisette Michelle and the ladies on the panel!  There were selfies, usies, and hashtags all over the place!

Thank you Chrisette Michele for hosting such an amazing event! I had a blast and learned so much about branding, social media, and taking my career to the next level....
This was definitely an event to remember!

Until Next Time......

  1. Wow! It looks like it was an awesome event. I would love to attend in the future. I love what Chrisette mentioned about being vulnerable. I think as women of color we are taught to be strong and it's hard to balance strength and vulnerability. Thank you for sharing this wonderful event.
