WELLNESS FORMULA
Herbal Defense Complex

I know the winter season is almost over and hopefully the cold and flu season is making its way out of dodge, but I had to share my winter health and wellness secret with you all!

I ran across the Wellness Formula Herbal Defense Complex pills from the Vitamin Shoppe a few months ago, and I kid you not, I have not been sick this entire winter season!  I remember a few months ago, my entire department at work was sick and everyone was coughing and sneezing with every cold symptom you can think of and I was there in the middle of it all.  Taking two of these pills each day kept me from catching the bug and I have been feeling great the entire season.  THANK GOD!  I remember feeling a little itchiness in my throat at one point, and I doubled up on these pills.  The itchiness went away within hours and that is why I call these my MAGIC PILLS!!

This Wellness Formula contains essential vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, and Zinc.  This is an herbal defense complex and contains herbs such as Garlic Clove Powder, Propolis Powder, Boneset Leaf, Echinacea, Angelica Root, and Cayenne Fruit just to name a few.  Echinacea is widely used to treat infections and has been proven to reduce cold symptoms in many cases.  These pills are loaded with Echinacea.

You can purchase 180 Tablets for 24.99 by visiting The Vitamin Shoppe online.

Lunch Hour Botox? Yikes!!!

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Hello again!!  Halfway through the week and a holiday coming up on Friday!  Do you have any special plans for the 4th of July?  Barbecues....Sun...Fun....

If you haven't checked out the latest edition of Vogue, definitely do so.  This is a great summer read and it even has some sneak peaks into this year's Fall fashion as well.

One particular article that caught my attention is the article on page 72 entitled "Rush Hour" ~ Laser Facials, Light Therapy - and even Botox in a flash.  L.A.'s new speed spas are the latest in and out beauty.

The article highlights three different L.A. spas that specialize in these services "on the go."  You can literally take a lunch break and go get a quickie plastic surgery treatment and then head back to work!  I mean, are you really surprised?  In our day and time everything is quick and in a hurry anyway, so why not this?

What do you guys think?  Plastic Surgery and Botox, etc. all seem to be a touchy subject and everyone has their own opinion so tell me what you think.  First of all, what are your views on Botox and Plastic Surgery...Secondly, would you trust a surgeon performing such procedures "on the go?"

I personally would not invest my time or money into these types of surgeries, however if I did, I definitely would not get something as serious as this quick fast and in a hurry!  I would want the surgeon to take his precious time and cross all the Ts and dot all the Is!  What do you think?

Vitamin C For the Skin

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Greetings my dear friends and I hope your week has been superb thus far!  I am super excited to have a few days off from work coming up on Thursday and Friday and boy I can't wait!  Just to take some time away from work and have some "me" time is all I am looking forward to.  Not to mention I plan on doing a little shopping and I will have a haul for you all coming up next week!!  My very first haul on my blog!!

Anyways, on to today's post.... I would like to chat a little about the benefits of Vitamin C for the skin.  Last week, I did a blog post on my current skincare must haves and if you missed that post, I have included the link below...

I completely left out one of the most important steps of my nighttime skin care routine!  My Vitamin C serum drops!  I currently use the Springs Vitamin C 20% with Vitamin E and 100% Natural Zemea.  I use this serum after my cleanser and toner.  I purchased my bottle from Amazon.com and the price point is $18.97 for 1 fl oz.

Vitamin C, when applied topically to the skin has been proven to have phenomenal skin benefits.  Vitamin C improves collagen synthesis and brightens dark spots and/or acne scarring on the skin.  It also limits the damage of free radicals on the skin, not to mention improvement in skin texture and tone.  Lets all say goodbye to premature aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles!

To be effective, the concentration of topical Vitamin C serum should be between 10% - 20%.  If you have sensitive skin, a 20% Vitamin C serum may be a bit overbearing to start off with because it can cause redness or a tingling sensation at first.  I would suggest starting off with a lower concentration to begin with and work your way up to a higher concentration over time.

Vitamin C taken orally is also a plus and I start my morning off each and every day with a Vitamin C tablet.

Definitely take some time and do a little research on the benefits of Vitamin C and consider adding this beneficial Vitamin into your daily regimen.

My Current Skincare Must Haves!

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Hello All....Hope you are having a great week thus far!  The weekend is almost here....

I wanted to share a few of my favorite skin care products with you all.  A lot of people find it hard to believe when I tell them I am 34 years young, and I have a son that's almost a teenager.  But its the truth!  I thank God everyday for my health and strength and I would say good genes as well, but having a good daily skincare routine is a must when it comes to youthful skin.  These are my current must haves when it comes to skin care and they have become staple products in my every day skin care routine!  These products are easily accessible and can be found at any local drug store.  Let me know if any of you have tried any of these products and how did they work for you??  I would love to hear from you!

Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser, Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer, Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion, Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner, Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Towelettes, Palmers Shea Butter, Clean & Clear Persa Gel Acne Treatment, FIJI Water

The Aveeno Clear Complexion line has become my best friend when it comes to skin care.  Taking into consideration I have oily/combination skin that is prone to breakouts, finding skin care products that won't clog my pores or leave me feeling greasy has always been a challenge.  Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer with salicylic acid is great at moisturizing my skin and treating/preventing any luring breakouts.  I use these products in the morning and at night.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser
5oz $8.29 US Dollars

Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer
4fl oz $17.49 US Dollars

Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion
12fl oz $8.49 US Dollars

I have fallen in love with Dickinson's Witch Hazel products as well.  Witch Hazel has been proven to have many skin care benefits from healing to anti-aging.  The Dickinson's Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed.  I usually use this product after I cleanse.  I use the Dickinson's Towelettes to remove make-up or any excess oil that may build up on my skin during the day.

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner
16fl oz $5.99 US Dollars

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes
20 count $6.79 US Dollars

As I stated earlier, my pores clog easily and my skin is prone to breakouts.  Clean & Clear's Persa Gel 10% Benzoyl Peroxide is a great acne medication and will zap out any pimple within hours!  Benzoyl Peroxide is a great acne treatment and this product contains 10%.

Persa-gel 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Maximum Strength
1oz $6.79 US Dollars

At night after cleansing, toning and moisturizing, I will use a little of the Palmer's Shea Butter around my eyes to prevent crows feet and small lines.  This particular product can be hard to come across and I cannot remember the price.  I found this at a local beauty supply store.  Do not wait until you actually see wrinkles to start anti-aging steps.  Start early in your 20s...Get a good moisturizer and use a good eye cream because wrinkles and crows feet generally start around the eye area since that area can be the driest.

3.5 oz

Last but certainly not least....WATER!! Water, water, and more water.  Water has become a staple item in my daily routine and its a must have for beautiful radiant skin.  Water keeps your body and skin hydrated, especially during these hot summer months.  I am currently loving the FIJI water!

10 Tips to Reduce Stress During Your Day

Monday, June 16, 2014

~~Whether you are a full time student, business woman, or an on the go mom, our days can be quite overwhelming.  Stress is the leading cause of sickness, premature aging, and death in our country.  Check out these tips that may help to reduce stress during your day!~~

1.  Start your morning by stretching & taking long deep breaths.  Stretching will wake up your muscles and get the blood flowing after a good night's sleep.

2.  Drink a glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning.  This will balance the PH levels in your body and aid your digestive system.

3.  Eat a healthy breakfast as they say "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
~ Oatmeal, fruit, cereal, orange juice, etc......

4.  Say out loud ~ "Today will be a great day!"  Words are powerful and the more you say a thing, the more you believe it, and the more you believe it, the more it becomes a reality.

5.  Dress to impress!  When you look good, you feel good.  Walk out and face the world looking like a million dollars.  You are worth it!

6.  Smile!!!!!! A smile not only warms the heart, but a smile warms the room.  When you give off positive energy, you will also reciprocate just that.

7.  If you feel overwhelmed at work or at anytime during the day, get up and take a walk.  There's nothing wrong with taking a quick break just to clear your mind or get some fresh air if you work indoors.  Return back to your job/task with a fresh mind.

8.  Drink plenty of water throughout the day and eat healthy snacks to curb your hunger.  Its important to stay hydrated and we all know that we are not the most pleasant or productive people when we are hungry.  Always try to eat lunch, but if you can't, keep snacks readily available.
~ Carrots, celery with almond butter, apple slices, almonds, etc....

9.  Do something relaxing that you love to do after work.  Have some "me" time.
~ Take a walk, bubble bath, light candles, read, write, etc...

10.  Get your beauty sleep!  Get to bed at a decent hour.  Your body needs rest and you don't need those under eye circles or under eye bags in your life!  Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night and wake up to do it all over again tomorrow!!
