Weekend Brunching + MIA For A While......

Monday, May 18, 2015

Hello Beautiful People!!

I hope all is well with each and every one of you!  I have been on a blogging rollercoaster this past week with the unexpected CRASHING of my computer....I wasn't able to blog last week, and I have been completely bummed about that because I have so many things lined up for the blog including a "Beautiful Success" post, a giveaway, and more events and special announcements coming down the line.  Now is NOT the time for a computer crash!

But nevertheless, life goes on and so does the world of blogging.  I had a fabulous weekend brunching with the ladies and extending the celebration of my birthday! (Which was May 2nd by the way...lol) My friends joined me at 5 Church Restaurant for a "Beauty Brunch" as we called it, and I had a blast!  The ladies gifted me beauty related gifts that all had a story/significance behind them and I was so surpised.  I really wasn't expecting anything but a great time and good laughs.  The gifts were so special and I LOVE each and every beauty gift I received.

 Beauty Gifts I received

*Homemade Lemon Scub
*Handbag
*Avocado Body Lotion
*Alba Botanical Hawaiian Eye Gel
*Alba Botanical Face Cream
*Beauty Box Including:  Anastasia Beverly Hills Contouring Kit, Coconut Milk Conditioner, Beauty Blenders, Vaseline Lip Balm, NYX Matte Lip Creams, and a Lufa.

 Dessert was AMAZING!!

I thank God for these special ladies.  I believe that God puts certain people in your life for a reason, and these ladies have been a God sent in my life.  I am truly blessed to call these ladies "Friends"

**I was able to get this blog post in using a different computer and some photos I snapped on my IPhone.  I apologize about the quality, but I am doing my best here on limited resources for the time being...Hopefully my computer will be up and running soon. I am hoping and praying! I don't want to keep you guys on hold for too long. There's just too much to blog about, right....But until my computer is back up and running 100%, I will be MIA for a while. Possibly squeezing in a post here and there, but I can not make any promises. Trust me, I will do the best I can, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up on why I will be MIA for a while if you are wondering.

You can still follow me on Instagram and Twitter @humblebeauty29 and we can keep in touch!  Not being able to blog on my regular schedule is really a bummer because blogging has become more than just a hobby to me.  Connecting with you guys and sharing my journey is what I have grown to love.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that my computer will be back soon!  In the meantime, I will be missing you guys....Leave me a comment below so that we can keep in touch!  :))

Until Next Time......

~ The Hair Post ~

Sunday, March 29, 2015

Today its all about hair on the blog!
Join me as I share my weekly hair routine with you all and show you how I go from this......

 To this....

Let's Begin!!!

This is how my hair looks in its natural state and when I am in dying need of a shampoo.  Its time for a wash, so I decided to take some pics and show you my usual hair routine.  Nothing fancy here.  Just the basic - shampoo, condition, moisturize, and blow dry.  Simple as 1..2..3.. right?

I recently purchased the Dove Advanced Hair Series ~ Quench Absolute For Curly, Course Hair and I must admit, I LOVE these products!  I consider my hair to be course and curly and this product works amazingly for my hair.  I love the smell also.  Sometimes for me its hard to find a shampoo that doesn't dry out my hair and leave it feeling tangled and matted in the shower.  With this product, I was able to shampoo with ease and my hair felt soft and detangled in the shower.  It was like I could run my fingers through my hair to detangle!  Like magic for someone with my hair type.  The Dove brand has some really good products and if you have hair similar to my texture and you are looking for a good shampoo and conditioner to use, I highly recommend these products.  Trust me, they do work well for course and curly hair!

After shampooing and conditioning in the shower, I always detangle using a wide tooth comb.  I detangle while in the shower, but I follow up with a comb through after I get out of the shower as well.

I then use a leave in conditioner or moisturizer of choice and then comb through to evenly distribute the product.  I usually use Cantu Argon Oil Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream or Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie.  I typically alternate between the two.

Nice and creamy product that leaves my hair feeling soft.....

I always concentrate on my ends

And then I lock in the moisture with good 'ole Olive Oil!  A natural product that works wonders for natural hair....

And Voila!
Shampooed, Conditioned, Detangled, and Moisturized!

Next, I section my hair off and then proceed with blow drying.
The blow drying process can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes for me.

Brushing the hair with a paddled brush and applying heat is what straightens the hair shaft

Can you spot that little gray strand that has been there since I was born...
LOL

I like using this Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine serum after blow drying.  It leaves my hair soft with a bit of shine!

I do not flat iron my hair after a wash and blow dry, only because I like my hair to look full with a bit of texture.  I always sleep with my hair wrapped at night and in the mornings I am good to go!

Finished look!

Hope you all enjoyed!!
:)

Until Next Time......
 xoxo

MAGIC PILLS!

WELLNESS FORMULA
Herbal Defense Complex

I know the winter season is almost over and hopefully the cold and flu season is making its way out of dodge, but I had to share my winter health and wellness secret with you all!

I ran across the Wellness Formula Herbal Defense Complex pills from the Vitamin Shoppe a few months ago, and I kid you not, I have not been sick this entire winter season!  I remember a few months ago, my entire department at work was sick and everyone was coughing and sneezing with every cold symptom you can think of and I was there in the middle of it all.  Taking two of these pills each day kept me from catching the bug and I have been feeling great the entire season.  THANK GOD!  I remember feeling a little itchiness in my throat at one point, and I doubled up on these pills.  The itchiness went away within hours and that is why I call these my MAGIC PILLS!!

This Wellness Formula contains essential vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, and Zinc.  This is an herbal defense complex and contains herbs such as Garlic Clove Powder, Propolis Powder, Boneset Leaf, Echinacea, Angelica Root, and Cayenne Fruit just to name a few.  Echinacea is widely used to treat infections and has been proven to reduce cold symptoms in many cases.  These pills are loaded with Echinacea.

You can purchase 180 Tablets for 24.99 by visiting The Vitamin Shoppe online.

WARNING!!!!
THESE VITAMINS SMELL AND TASTE HORRIBLE!!!  I would recommend taking these vitamins with a meal or with a juice or some type of drink other than water because the smell and taste can be VERY overwhelming.  Don't say I didn't warn you!

Tell me if you have tried these things.  They work like magic for me and thankfully, knock on wood, I have made it through cold and flu season symptom free!

Until Next Time......
