Spring is my favorite season!  I love the fresh air, flowers, sunshine, and warm weather.  My birthday is also in the spring, so I always look forward to this time of the year!  Pastels, florals, sandals, and sundresses....Spring is in the air and I am definitely feeling the "Spring Fever!"

I am loving Charming Charlies and Maurices!  Their accessories are the best!

 

 

When I think of spring, I always think of pastel colors.  Soft pinks, peaches, baby blues, and lavender.  This top I purchased from Express reminds me of spring and I paired it with a peach colored necklace from Forever 21.  Color blocking is still trending this season, so I couldn't resist this top.  I love it because it screams spring!

 



 

 

 

These wedges from Rue 21 give me life!  I purchased these last season and I couldn't wait until it was time to break them out once again this spring.  I love everything about these wedges from the color to the design.  Hello spring!

Valentine's Day Lunch & Movie ~ OOTD

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

 



 

Today was such a lovely day.....Valentine's Day!!

My hubby surprised me with a special lunch and movie with a group of friends and we all had a blast!  We saw Fifty Shades of Grey and that movie was OMG!  I really have no words to describe the movie....All I can say is OMG!  Of course if you have read the book, you have an idea of what this movie is all about.  Powerful, dominating, hard core SEX!  I would say that the movie did an alright job of telling the story.  For me, reading a book is always better than watching the movie, but definitely go check out the movie if you haven't had the chance and let me know what you think.  I will say that the ending is a BIG cliff hanger to say the very least.  I mean BIG cliff hanger, they pretty much left us out there to hang dry....Needless to say, the movie was entertaining and I had a great time with some great friends!

I kept it simple with the outfit.  I really like this heart top from Rue 21 as it put me in the mood for Valentine's Day.  My pink Uggs are so comfortable and go well with any jeans on any given day.  Let's just say I had a very comfortable day!

"Defining Your Personal Style"

            Are heels a must in your everyday life?  Do you find yourself obsessing over the latest fashion trends and what’s new on the runways; or are you always grabbing for that favorite comfortable sweater, skinny jeans and boots?  The norm in your life.  Whatever the case may be, it’s safely fair to say that each one of us has our own unique and self-defining style.  Our very own personal style….

 

Webster's Dictionary defines style as such:  Conformity to a recognized standard; manner which is deemed elegant and appropriate, especially in social demeanor; fashion. 

 

 

 

If you are anything like me, defining personal style can be a bit of a challenge, as I’d rather not box myself into a specific category.  I have been attempting to define my “personal style” for a while now, and being the eclectic person that I am, I have yet to come up with any rhyme or reason to my own “style.”   It can change from day to day, depending upon the environment, the weather, or my state of mind.  Have you ever felt flat out yucky and just decided to throw on some sweats and tennis shoes and call it a day?  Or on a cold and gloomy day you decided to “dress down” to accommodate the elements.  I do know that style can range and vary from the way you carry yourself, the way you speak, how you choose to wear your hair and make-up, all the way down to the foods you eat and the lifestyle you choose to live.  Style is the very essence of who you are. 

So today I challenge you!  I challenge myself!  Think about who you are as a person and what things make you happy in life.  How do you carry yourself and how do you speak?  How do you love wearing your hair and make-up?  Is your closet full of heels or flats?  I challenge you to think about these things and what makes you unique as an individual.  I challenge you to explore the very essence of who you really are.  

I challenge you to the question – “What is your personal style?”

Hello everyone!

 

Just wanted to post this simple OOTD today that I wore to a basketball game the other night.  We went to see the Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks and the game was so much fun!  I wanted to keep the outfit simple yet chic at the same time.  The top is simple with a little detailing near the shoulder area and I absolutely love the suede boots from Forever 21.  Sometimes it doesn't take a lot to make an outfit come together and look great.  Simplicity is key.....

Pantone has named Marsala as the 2015 color of the year!

Marsala can be described as a reddish amber, wine color that goes great with darker colors and warm skin tones.  I absolutely love wearing this color, especially in the Fall and Winter months.  This shade looks great on the lips and nails as well.
