~~ GIRL POWER ~~

Hello beautiful and powerful women!!

Today I wanted to share a message with you all that is very important and dear to my heart....
Let me take a deep breath before I begin...

I was reading a post on Facebook the other day that one of my friends from High School posted.  It was a very lengthy post...The post went on to talk about how she became a teen mom at such a young age and throughout those teen years, not only did she have 1 child, but 2...and then 3 children.  All the while, she was being physically beaten, choked, punched in the face, and spit on by the man she so-called loved.  The father of these children.....

Reading her message disturbed me, not only because you never want to hear about these type of domestic situations, especially with a friend, but all through High School she was going through this agony.  We had classes together, we sat together at lunch, we laughed and talked about our futures....all the while I never had a clue about the pain she was endearing.

I am so glad that my friend was able to finally rid herself of this horrible excuse for a man.  She was able to finish college and she is now a highly successful nurse.  I am so proud of her and I know there are hundreds of thousands of other women in the world with similar stories.  Similar situations, where they feel that there is no way out....That is why I feel that its so important for us women to be supportive one of another and offer encouragement whenever possible.  Even though I had no idea during high school that my friend was carrying such an emotional load, if I had any inkling of her situation, I would have offered my support and lent a helping hand...
It was the very least I could have done.

~~ THE POWER OF A WOMAN ~~

I know for a fact that we as women go through a lot in life.  From being the chosen ones to bring forth life into the world, the caregivers, the daughters, mothers, wives and every other title that exists, women have been doing it all plus much more since the very beginning.  What saddens me is that a lot of times we as women tend to compare ourselves to one another which leads to envy and jealousy.  I learned a long time ago to never compare myself or my situation to anyone else's because you never know what that other person may be going through.  The woman who may seem to have it all ~ the house on the hill, the perfect man, the perfect body and career, just may be the woman who needs your support the most....

It's amazing what we as women can do here on earth as individuals.  Can you imagine how much more we can do as a community if we came together combining all of our strength, love, and support for one another.  We could set this world on fire!!  I love to see other women excelling and moving forward in their careers and living out their dreams.  It gives me hope and excitement!  I also love to encourage other women on their journey, because the least little thing you say may be the very life changing thing that particular woman needed to hear at that very moment....

To make someone smile only makes my heart smile...

~~ WOMEN I ADMIRE ~~

Michelle Obama
Such a powerful and influential woman of our day.  A wife, mother, and First Lady of the United States, she continues to remain grounded and carry out her daily tasks as a role model for our country.  She is actively involved in the community on a mission to improve the lives of others and to make our country a better place to call home.

Oprah
Oprah has such an inspiring story...From being raised by her Grandmother who was a maid, Oprah was determined to be more than a house servant.  She became a servant of the world.  Oprah touches the lives of women and men all over the world and she makes a difference.  In life, making a difference speaks volumes of a person.  Not only is Oprah a person, but she is a person who happens to be a WOMAN.

I could go on and on all day about the many influential women that I admire, as there are so many.  Women are special and we are doing more now than ever before.  We are political leaders, lawyers, doctors, policemen, military personnel, firefighters, athletes and much more.
The list goes on and on.....

As I read the Facebook post my high school friend posted the other day, I was sad yet so proud at the same time.  To overcome such abuse and still raise her 3 children to be beautiful young men AND to finish school and become a nurse, I am so happy for her.  I am so proud of her.  I am proud of myself.  I am proud of all women who have overcome and gone on to do great and mighty things...

GIRL POWER!!!

Hope you all have a FABULOUS and POWERFUL weekend!!

Until next time....Stay Beautiful & Keep it Humble!

  5. Beautiful post! I believe in girl power and raising up other women instead of bringing them down. It's horrible what your friend went through and unfortunately it happens to more women than we think. I'm glad she made it out and is now successful.
