Dailylook's LBD Spring Style Challenge

Sunday, April 26, 2015

Hello again my beautiful friends!!! Hope you all are enjoying the spring weather, as I sure have.  There's nothing like blossoming flowers and warm sunshine on a beautiful spring day... And what better way to bask in the warmth of the season than with a little spring fashion!  :)

I was inspired by DailyLook to participate in their LBD Spring Style Challenge, by choosing a little black dress from their Little Black Dress Collection to style and accessorize for the perfect spring look.  I will be attending several weddings this spring and summer, therefore I decided to create a look that would be perfect for a wedding - elegant and chic.....Wedding Chic!

* I chose the DailyLook Plunge Neck Bodycon Dress because everything about this dress screams sophistication and elegance.  The V-Neck, the length, and the fact that this is a body con dress are all reasons why I would choose this dress for a wedding look.  Love it!

* I am in love with these Schutz Sleek Wrap Heels! The color goes great with the accessories I chose for this outfit and I absolutely LOVE the style of these heels!  I would wear these to a wedding in a heartbeat!

* The Ron White Vegan Leather Clutch is simple yet elegant, and goes great with this look.  I love carrying a small clutch to weddings, so convenient and fit for the occasion!

* I love to accessorize with jewelry!  I chose the Carolyn Colby Swarovski Crystal Ear Studs, House of Harlow 1960 Shakti Stack Ring, the Daily Look Layered Box Necklace, and the Clover and Crystal Watch to finish off the look.

I had so much fun putting together this look as I challenged my inner stylist! Be sure to visit DailyLook.com and check out their Little Black Dress Collection to find inspiration for your next spring look. Be stylish & have fun!  :)

Until Next Time......

"Beautiful Success" Featuring Fallon Jai

Sunday, April 19, 2015

MEET FALLON JAI

Blogger, Creative Writer, Freelance P.R. & Motivational Speaker

Saved, Stylish, and Successful!  The best way to describe this New Orleans native, whom I am excited to feature in this month's "Beautiful Success" series.  Fallon Jai is a Blogger and the Creator of Faithfulandfabulousfemale.com, a Christian based fashion and beauty blog, dedicated to the upliftment and empowerment of young females.

One thing I especially love about social media is the ability to meet and connect with so many different people from all over the world.  Fallon Jai and I actually met via Twitter and we connected instantly and created a sisterly bond that is special in its own right.

I believe God puts certain people in our life for a reason, as Fallon Jai has really been an inspiration in my life!  I asked her some questions about her career and what success means to her.  I hope you all enjoy!!

"I want to be remembered as a lady—someone that respects her mind, body and spirit."
-Fallon Jai

HumbleBeauty:    Tell me a little about yourself and what you do for a living?

Fallon Jai:    I’m a proud born and raised New Orleanian. I graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.A. in Mass Communication. Currently I’m the creator/blogger of the Christian-themed blog Faithful And Fabulous Female. I also do freelance P.R. and motivational speaking.

HumbleBeauty:   What drives/motivates you?

Fallon Jai:   My motivation comes from the calling and talent God has given me. He has molded my life and encouraged me to use my ability to write creatively, speak publicly and act to inspire others to be their best and embrace His love. Before I do anything, I ALWAYS ask God to guide me and speak through me so people see His excellence and not mine.

HumbleBeauty:   How do you overcome obstacles?

Fallon Jai:   Every time I’m faced with challenges in life, I do my best to trust that God has allowed me to be in certain situations to mold me into a better version of myself. I try to see the light in the mist of my storms and know that it could be better, but it could also be much worse. No matter what I’m blessed.

HumbleBeauty:  What does success mean to you?

Fallon Jai:   Success is when you have a healthy relationship with God. If you learn how to love, trust  and respect Him, everything in your life will fall in place. If we let Him take control of our lives, we will accomplish the ultimate success—inner peace.

HumbleBeauty:   Is there anyone that you admire or look up to?  Why?

Fallon Jai:   I admire my mother. She is the true essence of what it is to be a LADY. She is consistently honest, reliable, caring and supportive. She never does anything halfway. She always tells me, “If you can’t give something your all, don’t do it.” She lives by that motto and if I can be a least half the lady she is, then I know I’ve become an amazing person.

HumbleBeauty:   What do you want to be most remembered for?

Fallon Jai:  I want people to remember that I was always honest. I always remained true to myself even if it caused me to be misunderstood or not popular. I want to be remembered as a lady—someone that respects her mind, body and spirit.

HumbleBeauty:   What advice would you give to other women on the path to pursuing their dreams?

Fallon Jai:   Follow your calling, not what you think is the safe thing to do or what you think will make you tons of money. Do it because it’s your freedom—your passion. Do it because God created you for that purpose. Stay strong and believe in your calling. Be patient and prayerful in your calling and the Lord will bless you accordingly.

The Pose 'n Post Symposium Featuring Chrisette Michele

Thursday, April 16, 2015

HumbleBeauty was in the building at the Pose 'n Post Symposium in Columbia, SC, this past Sunday, featuring the lovely and talented singer and songwriter, Chrisette Michele!

Chrisette Michele has been on a 10 city tour, bringing ladies together to discuss and build their social media presence honestly and organically.  Chrisette Michele kicked off the event in Newark, NJ and has hit up major cities such as NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC to name a few. Ladies were able to enjoy a special and intimate performance by Chrisette Michelle, as well as participate in a question/answer panel discussion with great influencers in the social media realm. Pose 'n Post attendees have been able to connect with other bloggers, vloggers, and brands in their communities, while networking and building new relationships.

This has been a SOLD OUT event in each city, and ladies have walked away with fresh inspiration and empowerment!

I was grateful to chat with Chrisette Michele and ask her a few questions about the Pose 'n Post event and how social media has impacted her career....

HumbleBeauty:  What can you tell us about the Pose 'n Post Symposium and what can we expect from the event this evening?

Chrisette Michele:  Lately its been a lot of tears at the event.  Its a vulnerability that happens when you start your own business and when you expose yourself on social media.  Some people are petrified and afraid, so when they see the stories that the girls that I've invited, Brosia, Lover4_Fashion, and Courtney of The Mane Choice, talk about what they've been though, it brings it home for a lot of the ladies.  It gets a little emotional.

HumbleBeauty:  Social media is huge in our day in time.  How would you say that social media has impacted your career?

Chrisette Michele:  In so many ways.  Its my way to chat with the fans and my way to keep real with them, and to tell them how I really feel right at that moment.  Its a nice way to be able to connect with the audience.

HumbleBeauty:  What new projects can the fans expect from Chrisette Michele in the future?

Chrisette Michele:  Outside of the Pose 'n Post Symposium, I'm on tour with Anthony Hamilton.  We're thinking about bringing a second leg of this because its been so successful, every event has been sold out.  Although we've done 16 colleges on this one, we want to add more schools from the Midwest all the way down South, and then do a West coast run.  We've been everywhere from NYU to Harvard and we'll be at Spelman and Clark this week.

Guest Speakers
Courtney Adeleye of The Mane Choice and You Tubers Fash aka Lover4_Fashion and Brosia Malbrough

Connections were made and friendships were built....

This was a full house and SOLD OUT event!

Chrisette Michele serenaded the room with her amazing voice.....

Chrisette Michele had a fun icebreaker for everyone!  The challenge was to find someone you didn't know, exchange contact information, take an usie, post on Instagram and tag the other person using the hastag #postnpost!

The ladies had so much fun with this Pose 'n Post icebreaker!

Chrisette Michelle was then joined by You Tubers, Brosia Malbrough and Fash from Lover4_Fashion, along with Courtney Adeleye of The Mane Choice, in a panel discussion.  The audience was able to ask questions and discuss topics ranging from You Tube success, building brands, increasing following, fashion, hair, networking, and everything social media.

Last but not least...Everyone in the building had the chance to take an #usie with Chrisette Michelle and the ladies on the panel!  There were selfies, usies, and hashtags all over the place!

Thank you Chrisette Michele for hosting such an amazing event! I had a blast and learned so much about branding, social media, and taking my career to the next level....
This was definitely an event to remember!

Until Next Time......
